Easter Egg of the Day: Want to know why Community is getting canceled? Because it’s simply too amazing for this world.

You already know how chock-full of Easter Eggs it is, right? Well, someone just found the best one yet.

It seems that the writers have been sneaking the word “Betelgeuse” into the script of a single episode each season.

Check out what happened when the word was uttered a third time during the show’s Halloween episode, “Horror Fiction in Seven Spooky Steps.” (Hint: Look behind Annie.)

Pure brilliance.

This is AMAZING. God I hope this show gets another season.

All of Google’s Easter eggs in one basket

killscreendaily:

9Gag has a list of Google’s secret tricks. Type these into the search bar, press “I’m feeling lucky,” and watch your afternoon evaporate:

  • Do a barrel roll
  • Google Sphere
  • Epic Google
  • Google Gravity
  • Google Loco
  • Google Gothic
  • Google Pacman
  • Google Guitar
  • Google Pirate
  • Google Rainbow
  • Google Pirate
  • Google Reverse

The highlight is without a doubt Google Pacman, which allows you to play a modified version of Pac-Man based around the company’s logo. It kicked my ass.

I was surprised by how many of these Google Easter eggs I did not know about. Huh.

This Skyrim rap is better than it has any right to be

killscreendaily:

This guy can flow. He sort of raps like Wiley, in that he is British and this is insane. Too bad he didn’t mention eating anything.

Completely agree. This has no right being as entertaining as it is. (The rest of his work - not so hot. Although the Fallout 3 one isn’t too shabby.)

Amazon bypasses library, lends Kindle books directly to Prime users

Very interesting. I’m glad the article points out that the actual titles available for lending are not the most current or exciting, but I definitely think this is a step in the right direction. Overtime you can start to demonstrate that this kind of lending doesn’t destroy sales, just as libraries have not destroyed sales, which opens up a wider range of titles and increases the practicality of e-readers. The timing is perfect for this kind of an announcement too. Just as several new Kindles are hitting the market, adding additional features to your Prime service, but make it only available to the physical hardware, not the Kindle apps, only makes the Kindles themselves more enticing. I’d be lying if I said that this didn’t add fuel to my already burning desire for a Kindle Fire. (Wait, did I really just use that many puns in one sentence?)

Also, good on Amazon for adding services to the Prime membership but not increasing the price. At this point, for the Video on Demand stuff, the 2 day shipping, and now ebook lending - $79 a year seems like a pretty good deal. Now, if only I wasn’t apartment hunting and could spring for a Kindle Fire and a Prime membership.
